Titramax VT SULPHUR – Hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan sulfur in hydrocarbons and oils
Description
The Titramax VT SULPHUR was developed for the determination of sulfur compounds such as hydrogen sulfide and mercaptan sulfur in liquid hydrocarbons and oils.
The measurement is based on anhydrous volumetric titration with silver nitrate solution. This produces silver sulfide (Ag 2 S) and silver mercaptides.
The device meets the standards ASTM D 3227, ISO 3012, UOP 163, UOP 212 .
The analysis must be carried out in an inert gas atmosphere in order to avoid oxidation of the sulfur compounds by atmospheric oxygen and thus incorrect measurement results.
The titration process is adjusted precisely and reliably to the reaction speed using special control algorithms. Two endpoints are reached – the first for hydrogen sulfide and the second for mercaptan sulphur.
The result is presented in mg/kg (ppm) hydrogen sulphide and/or mercaptan sulphur, but can also be presented in other units.
Applications
The Titramax VT SULPHUR is suitable for the analysis of
